I have a 40gb ps3, can I save my ps1 games onto the ps3 hardrive w/o the adapter? - hardrive adapter
I know that old files, which require a memory card to be preserved. My question is: When I start a new game, I need some kind of adapter or just save it directly to the Hardrive on a PS3 and games.

You do not need the adapter to create new backup files. You need to go on the memory card into the "game" and create a virtual memory card, and then assign a location. Thus the selection of Slot 1 or Slot 2, the PS3 does not go. There is no limit to how many cards can be created, you must allocate only one slot 1 or 2, and change them if necessary.
